every time a movie is made such as avatar it is a white man, who comes to save people of different races like Dances with Wolves, perpetuates the ignorant stereotype that it takes a white man to save the poor primitive colored people from utter destruction. This movie gives no credit to the people of color or gives them any chance of defeating the enemy themselves, they need a white man to do it. i dont think this movie is races but it comes off as is white people are the true savers and that  it takes a white man, swooping in from the heavens, to instantly become a hero and save the colored people. It speaks on the usual by saying that the colored people could not save themselves. I just read a racist comments from real life white people making statements like, “if it were not for white people, black people would still be swinging from trees with bones in their noses.” This movies reinforces that ignorant stereotype and is racist against blacks, not whites.

SAGGING

I feel that sagging people passing a law against people wearing sagging pants is a waste of time. We should be focused on creating jobs, improving our schools, health care, dealing with the war in Iraq, and anybody, any public official, that is worrying about sagging pants probably needs to spend some time focusing on real problems out there. i feel that sagging is a way that black youth can be them selves and it became part of there culture it was something that was introduced to the black culture some way.  sagging pants is way for young black men to say fuck you to main stream society with saying it. i sag  my pants and shorts everyday its not something i try to do its just something growing up in a black community and embracing black culture i started to do it and i feel like its a right that i have. i think parents having young children sag there pants there should be questions on why there doing this because there could could be negative reasons. As a parent this is difficult because you do have to allow your children to establish their own identity. For parents, it becomes important to be curious about this style of dress. For some adolescents this style might actually increases their self-esteem or make them feel more comfortable. For another person this type of dress could lead to antisocial behavior such as committing crimes and trying to imitate rappers and neighborhood thugs. overall i feel as if sagging pants is something that gives the black community its own identity and it represent creativity no matter how it began it is something that black culture took and made some what positive the only negative thing is that people are scared to embrace it.

what is justice?

If you go by the law justice is the law determined by fairness which is why they have jury duty so they can decide if what the punishment is.  i feel that justice is never really served because everyone have have different feelings and think differently. i feel like any crime that is violent or hurting a mass amount of people shouldn’t get over 4 years in prison. i feel that in the Oscar grant case i feel that the victims family and people in his community didn’t get justice,  because Oscar was killed by a cop that didn’t know what he was doing and that had a off the wall alibi. I believe that justice now is control  by who ever got power in what is being justified the person with the most money, power, and control over what is happening controls it. justice is something that is made up, if you don’t believe in being judge then don’t put yourself in the situation to be judge or just say FUCK EVERYBODY.

Jay z’s book Decoded and Hip Hop with

in the article by Cecil Brown he enplanes that hip hop is being colonized  and that jay z was the key reason behind this. The publication of Jay Z’ s Decoded. In this video he talks about the book decoded as he did in the video with Bill Maher  in this interview he speaks more in depth on how poetry was more of an influence for for him to begin rapping than rapping it self and how poetry gave him the idea to publish his work in written form.  If you notice in the other interview he talked more on how he was surprised and in the David Letterman interview he was speaking on how all this gave him the idea to do this and how its going to change hip hop for ever. Poetry is an art of performance, and although it may not rely on superior delivery as much as rap, a good poet grasps the rhythm of a particular poem, and allows it to flow during reading. Strong artists generate rhythm through inflection, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eminem, are good examples. Similarly, a good poet has a strong sense of the pacing of their poetry, and will choose words that preserve and enhance a consistent style. Dr. Seuss’ short, consistent rhyming style and penchant for made-up words characterize his books. But, what does rap gain by being “poetry?” Access to the middle class? Long done. Scholarly books devoted to the craft? Done. Classes on rap and hip-hop in universities. That ship, too, has sailed. Norton-like anthologies of their work? Done and done again. But, what does rap gain by being “poetry?” Access to the middle class? Long done. Scholarly books devoted to the craft? Done. Classes on rap and hip-hop in universities. That ship, too, has sailed. Norton-like anthologies of their work? Done and done again. If you look at how all this plays out Hip hop is a form of spoken word which became bigger than poetry itself, and the argument of hip hop shouldn’t be written is STUPID because most rappers write out there lyrics before they record or preform it any ways.
